John Burton, Production Coordinator
John Burton has been working in aerial cinematography for more than 12 years. Since coming to Helinet Aviation in 2004, he's helped coordinate shoots for numerous feature films, including National Treasure, Domino, Transformers, Deja Vu, he Island, John Hancock and others.
Before coming to Helinet Aviation, John co-owned Flying Pictures, U.S.A., an aerial camera systems company. Having coordinated aerial shoots for projects ranging from documentaries to high budget feature films, John is intimately familiar with all manner of aerial cameras used for film production, as well as aircraft—both as camera ships and picture ships.
John is also familiar with the permit process and FAA rules and regulations that may be involved in securing an aerial shoot. For shoots outside of California, John has developed an extensive list of vendors to help provide clients with the appropriate aircraft at their location. If a client is new to aerial filming, John can discuss their needs and help determine the best possible solution for their project and budget.
