To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sikorsky innovations during HAI Heli-Expo 2020, Sikorsky recognized Helinet Aviation and CEO Kathryn Purwin for collaborating at the recent CoMotion Los Angeles event highlighting the future of Urban Air Mobility.

During CoMotion LA, Sikorsky, Otis Elevator Company (NYSE: UTX) and Helinet Aviation Services turned the roof of a downtown Los Angeles parking garage into a unique travel demonstration.

Attendees began their journey by downloading a custom version of Otis’ eCall app. Guests selected a destination and the app called an elevator and guided the user to the top of the parking garage. Guests could relax in a Helinet flight lounge and view flyovers of Sikorsky’s S-76D helicopter – an aircraft that provides safe and reliable urban transport today.

“Our demonstration at CoMotion LA shows that the success of urban air mobility is dependent on a seamless transportation system integrated into today’s city infrastructures and supported by safe air vehicles that you’d be comfortable traveling in with your family,” said Jonathan Hartman, Disruptive Technologies lead, Sikorsky Innovations. “We’re excited to continue this important conversation and develop recommendations with the City of LA and the World Economic Forum.”
